Today, I want to introduce you to a new exciting find of mine: NYX Slide-On Eye Pencils!
I was very excited to see recently that my local Boots counter had a new NYX counter. I’ve read a lot online on US make-up blogs about NYX make-up and so I was eager to try out their products. The NYX eye pencils also offer an exciting cheaper alternative to my favourite Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Liners, in that they are only £5 (opposed to £14 for the Urban Decay product). So great for your wallet, as well as your face!
I chose the shade ‘Tropical Green’ as I’ve been looking for an emerald green liner for ages and haven’t been able to find one that I like. One sweep on the hand to test it out and I was instantly sold! The NYX liner applies beautifully, with absolutely no tugging or dragging on the eye area. The liner glides on effortlessly, as if it was butter. Despite the gliding, the liner still stays smudgeproof and transfer proof. Quite a feat to have a liner which goes on smoothly, yet doesn’t smear across the day or need set with eyeshadow.
I love the pigment and opacity of the liner as well. There is no having to go over and over and over the line to get an even line. I usually like to draw a line and then go over it again to get full opacity. I drew over my initial first line again but it was more to even out the line (one line was slightly thicker on one eye than the other), than to make sure the line was fully opaque all over.
I bought the liner in Tropical Green but there are also various other colours available in the range. Purples, teal, gold, blue, black and brown, to name just some of the available options. I might go back to Boots and buy one or two more, just to see if other shades perform equally well (and I also fancy trying some of the other shades ;o) ).
As mentioned above, the NYX Slide-On Eye Pencils cost £5 and are available from Boots and various online retailers. I think they are a fantastic option if you love coloured liner, want something that glides on but don’t want to/can’t afford to pay a premium price.
