I have been looking for ideas for new posts and found this make-up tag on a beauty and lifestyle blog I came across recently (everythingmeli.com).  I really enjoy reading this type of posts on other sites so I thought ‘why not post something like this here’? So here are my answers to the ‘Just for fun’ make-up tag questions.  Hope you enjoy reading the post!

I’ve pasted the questions at the end of the post, so feel free to let me know your answers in the comments section below.  I always love finding out about other people’s favourite products :o).

What was the first Make up item you ever bought? 

I’m finding it hard to remember back that far but it was possibly a Rimmel eyeshadow duo.  It contained a gold eyeshadow and a copper eyeshadow and I loved it so much!

What is your favourite high end brand?

MAC! I’ve always loved make-up but getting into MAC opened up a whole new world of colours, textures and combinations to me.

What is the most recent makeup/beauty purchase?

Oh, that would be the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette! I held out on buying it when it first released but couldn’t resist it when it was relaunched this year.

What is your favourite mascara?

Not an easy question, as I have a few favourites which I cycle through on a regular basis.  If I had to pick one, though, I would say Maybelline The Falsies Mascara.  I just love the effect that this mascara gives my lashes – it makes them look longer, fuller and more curled.  It gives pretty good separation too, which isn’t always something you can get from a false lash effect mascara.

What is your favourite palette?

Again, not an easy question as I have been enjoying using a few new palettes recently! It is probably a tie between the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette and the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette.  I love the range of colours and finishes in the Metal Matte Palette.  You can use it to create so many different types of looks! The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette is also extremely versatile and gives a really fun twist on neutral eyeshadows.

What is your favourite lipstick at the moment?

I don’t actually have a favourite lipstick as I tend to wear a different lip colour depending on what I’m wearing.  If I answer this more as ‘what lipstick do I come back to again and again’ favourite, then I would possibly say MAC Fanfare.  It’s a light peachy-pink colour and I find that it goes with everything.  If I am wearing a smokey eye and I’m not sure what lip colour to put on, this one generally fits the bill.

What is your favourite perfume?

Armani Code Eau De Parfum! I have been using this perfume for years and can’t be without it! It feels like my signature scent.

What is your best beauty tip?

Just wear whatever makes you happy and don’t be affected by what other people think.

What is your favourite drug store brand?

Probably Maybelline.  I really like their mascaras, lip products and their concealers.

What is your favourite bath/body brand?

The Sanctuary.  Their products feel luxurious and make your skin feel so lovely.  My favourite product from the range is their hot sugar scrub.  I have been using it for years and come back to it again and again.

What is your favourite concealer? 

Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi Concealer.  The peachy hue helps to cover dark circles and makes my eyes look so much brighter and wide-awake.

Are you a glossy lip or matte lip kinda person?

More of a glossy (or satin) lip.  I like my lips to have a little sheen to them.  I’m not so keep on the drying effect of some matte lip colours.  I do very occasionally use matte lip products but only when they don’t settle into lip lines or make them too dry.
