Valentine’s Day is coming up next week and so I thought this would be the perfect time to create a Valentine-inspired look.  For this look, I used cranberry, aubergine and champagne shades on the eyes.  I completed the look using a peachy-pink blusher on the cheeks and a rose-pink lipstick on the lips.

Tip: You can add extra definition to the eyes by adding a thin line of aubergine or black liner along the upper lashline.

For today’s look, I used silver, grey and taupe shades to create a soft and smokey effect on the eyes.  I used the Urban Decay Smoky palette and the brush which comes with it to create the whole eye look.

Hot Product: The Urban Decay Smoky palette contains beautiful beige, gold, brown, grey and black eyeshadows which can be combined to create both smokey or more natural eye looks.  The double-ended brush is also fantastic, making it easy to create beautiful eye looks without having to use lots of different brushes.

Face of the Day: Pink Ballerina (Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette)

For this look, I used neutral shades of pink eyeshadow to create a fresh and polished effect on the eyes.  Using pale shimmery pinks on the eyes is a good way to introduce a little colour to your routine without deviating too much from a neutral spectrum.  Pale pinks can also be very brightening on the eyes – perfect for days when you might be feeling a little tired.

Tip: This look is neutral enough that you can pair it with other lip colours.  Plums, burgundies and brighter pinks would add an extra surge of colour to this look and take it from day-time to night-time chic.

For today’s look, I took inspiration from a bright, beautiful cobalt blue bag (see below) and an aqua coloured dress I was wearing (see full face photos at the end of the post after the ‘Read More’ link).  I combined aqua, cobalt blue and a ‘pop’ of magenta plum to create a punchy, colourful effect on the eyes.

For this look, I paired bronze-toned colours on the eyes and cheeks with a hot orange-red lipstick.  I used the ‘Highlighted Look‘ style of eyeshadow application to create this look (click on the link for more information).  This type of look uses a darker shade in the inner/outer lids and a light shade in the middle of the lid.

You can pair other bright lip colours with this type of eye look as well, such as bright corals, deep burgundies and hot pinks.  Alternatively, you can use muted pinks, nudes or light peach lip shades if you prefer a softer look.

For this look, I created a highlighted effect on the eyes by using a darker shade in the inner and outer lids and a light shade in the middle of the lid.  This technique gives the eyes a ’rounder’ effect and is a good way to shape the eyes without having to heavily contour the crease.  Here’s how to re-create this look:

I used shades of charcoal grey, black and silver on the eyes to create this sultry, smokey eye look.  Applying the eyeliner first and then applying eyeshadows on top of this helps to create a more diffused, smouldering and smokey effect on the eyes.  This type of look is perfect for a special occasion, evening out or even if you have a little more time to experiment with your make-up.  Here’s how to re-create this look:

For this look, I combined lemon yellow, apple green and bright teal eyeshadows to create a colourful, tropical eye.  Using black eyeliner along the upper lashline and jet black mascara on the lashes helps to define the eye when using such bright colours on the eyelid.  Here’s how to re-create this look:
