Adding a sweep of coloured eyeliner to an otherwise neutral eyeshadow look is a nice way to introduce colour to your make-up.  This technique is particularly nice if you fancy trying out colour but find it a little daunting.

Tip: Sticking to neutral tones of eyeshadow also means you can experiment with different colours of liner.  Try purple, blue, bronze and silver for a twist on the same look.

For this look, I combined terracotta-brown and copper-orange eyesahadows to create a warm, autumnal effect on the eyes.  I added in a little blackened olive-green eyeshadow to the outer v as well to add extra depth to the eyes.

Note: You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Vice 4 palette).

This look shows that red lipstick can be used with eyeshadow shades other than neutrals.  I used peach and coral-red eyeshadows on the eyes to create a very fresh, slightly colourful effect on the eyes.

I completed the look using a peachy-pink blusher (MAC Pinch O’Peach) and a matte, pinky-red lipstick (Loreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Julianne’s Pure Red).

Adding in a bright colour to the outer v is a easy way to introduce colour without it being overpowering.  For this look, I pepped up a relatively neutral silver and brown eye combination with a ‘pop’ of emerald green.

Tip: The beauty of this type of look is that you can adapt it using any colour in the outer v.  Try swapping in purples, blues, coppers and blacks for an interesting twist on the same look.

Note: You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Vice 4 palette).

For this look, I used shades from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette to create a soft, plummy effect on the eyes.

Note: I used the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and the brush that comes with it to create this look.  You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Naked 3 palette), along with any similar brushes in your kit.

MAC Melon pigment is a very versatile shade, as it can be paired with other neutrals or used alongside brighter colours.  I used a teal eyeliner along the upper and lower lashlines to give a pop of colour to this neutral, golden-peach look.

Tip: You can easily change up this look by using a different colour of eyeliner.  Purple, blue and green would all work well and give a different twist to the look.

MAC’s Blue Brown pigment is such an interesting shade; it looks a little blue, green, silver and brown depending on how the light hits.  I used a shimmery white base underneath to intensify the sheen of the pigment.  I also combined Blue Brown with green eyeshadows to bring out the green flecks in the pigment.
