Pink Plumage

I really wanted to do something different with my eye make-up and came up with this bright pink and green colour combination.  The deep teal in the outer part of the lid adds extra depth to the eyes and also helps bring the pink and green shadows together.

To complement the look:  I used Kiko 3D Hydra Lipgloss in Shade 26 Sparkling Hibiscus Pink on the lips (see photos of this product and read more here), Too Faced Sweet Heart Blusher in ‘I Will Always Love You’ on the cheeks and Anastasia Glow Powder in Starburst (pale metallic pearly-pink) to highlight my cheekbones.

Here’s how to re-create this look:

Products

Base: Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer (clear)
Lid: MAC Biogreen eyeshadow (satin bright green)
Crease: MAC Bird’s Eye View eyeshadow (or Passionate eyeshadow) (matte bright deep hot pink)
Outer Lid and Outer V: MAC Plumage eyeshadow (matte deep dark teal)
Highlight: MAC Brule eyeshadow (light matte beige)
Lower Lashline: MAC Biogreen eyeshadow + MAC Plumage eyeshadow (as above)
Black mascara (upper and lower lashes)

Steps

1. Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over the lid as a base. You can either use your fingers or a flat synthetic brush (e.g. MAC 242).

2. Take a flat shader brush (e.g. MAC 239) and pat Biogreen on to the lid.

3. Sweep Bird’s Eye View into the crease using a windshield wiper motion (e.g. MAC 217).

4. Take a crease/blender brush (e.g. MAC 217) and gently pat Plumage on to the outer lid.  Apply Plumage in a very slight ‘v’ to add some extra shape to the eye.  Adding Plumage in this step adds extra depth to the eyes.

5. Using a crease/blender brush (e.g. MAC 217) or a pointed crease brush (e.g. MAC 226), sweep Brule on to the browbone to highlight and blend out the edges of the crease colour.

6. Take an angled eyeliner brush (e.g. MAC 266) and sweep Biogreen along the lower lashline.  Take the same angled eyeliner brush and sweep a little of Plumage along the outer part of the loewr lashline.

7. Apply plenty of black mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
