I have been looking for ideas for new posts and found this make-up tag on a UK beauty and lifestyle blog I came across recently (lablogbeaute.co.uk).  I really enjoy reading this type of posts on other sites and I thought it might be a nice way for you all to get to know me better.  I’ve reduced the number of questions to 12 so my post isn’t too long.  Hope you enjoy reading the post!

I’ve pasted the questions at the end of the post, so feel free to let me know your answers in the comments section below.  It’s always nice to get to know more about readers too :o) .

What do you love about make-up?

I love the transformative aspect of make-up, in terms of how it makes you feel, the different looks you can create and experimenting with colours.  I really enjoy the process of choosing what colours and products to wear, how to apply them and seeing a look come together.  I really enjoy the creative aspect, in terms of experimenting with different looks, colours and combinations.

I also find make-up so relaxing, whether that’s browsing products in store or applying it at home.  Even just choosing and applying a lipstick from my collection on a day when I’m not wearing any other make-up is a lovely bit of ‘me’ time.

Do you remember your first make-up item?

I remember my mum letting me use (and then giving me) a CoverGirl eyeshadow.  It was a pale, shimmery peach colour and I just loved it!

Describe your perfect mascara.  Have you found ‘The One’?

I like a mascara to lengthen, curl, separate and give my lashes volume.  Not asking for much, eh?! I have a few mascaras which are close to ‘The One(s)’ for me, so not quite found just one mascara that is my go-to.

I am really enjoying Benefit Roller Lash Mascara as I feel it ticks all of those boxes for me.  I also love Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara as it instantly makes my lashes look longer, thicker and curlier.  The only aspect I don’t like so much about Bad Gal Bang is that I have to wipe the brush off before applying product to my lashes as otherwise, it gets really clumpy.  Loreal Miss Manga is another favourite of mine, as it makes my lashes look longer, thicker and very black.

What coverage do you like in a foundation?

I prefer light coverage foundations, as I don’t like the feel of much make-up on my skin.  I do dip into medium and full coverage foundations from time to time, though, particularly when I want my make-up to last all day.

What is your favourite high end brand?

I have always loved make-up but MAC was the first brand that reeeeally got me obsessed with trying out different products and colours.

What cosmetics brand are you desperate to try but haven’t yet?

I would love to try Bite Beauty! We don’t get Bite Beauty in the UK and I am always seeing their lipsticks get great reviews on YouTube or on US make-up blogs.

Favourite drugstore brand?

I don’t know if I really have a favourite drugstore brand, as I use different brands depending on the product.  I love Maybelline for mascaras and concealers, Loreal for mascaras and lipsticks and Revlon for face powders and foundations.

Do you wear fake eyelashes?

No, I’ve never worn them! I think they look beautiful on other people but I’ve never really got in to them.

Is there any make-up you can’t leave the house without wearing?

I don’t mind going out without any make-up, particularly at the weekends or when I want a break from applying products.  I do still like to put a little lipstick on, though, on make-up free days for a pop of colour.

What is your most cherished beauty product?

I have two items: a Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in 14 Passion and a Sephora Rouge Lipstick in Cougar.  My husband got me the Chanel lipstick years ago and it was such a special gift, as it’s the only item of Chanel make-up that I have ever owned.  I’ve finished the lipstick but have kept the tube to display on my furniture as it’s so lovely! My aunt got me the Sephora lipstick and I’ve kept it as it reminds me of her whenever I see it.

How often do you buy a make-up product?

Sometimes I buy something once a month, other times it might be a few months before I buy anything new.  It varies depending on whether there are new products coming out that have caught my eye or if I have time to browse permanent ranges in store.

Do you utilise coupons, reward cards or sales for your beauty products?

I love to use my Boots points and my Debenhams Beauty Card vouchers to treat myself.  Sometimes I save them up; other times I just use them on a small item that I fancy getting.
