In January, I was doing some intensive lecturing work and as part of that, I wanted my make-up to last well across the day. I found some products within my existing make-up collection – and some new products – to be extremely long wearing. Some of them also enabled me to skip parts of my usual make-up routine. I thought it would be fun to put together a post on these products. I might also try and do some more detailed posts on each product as well so let me know if that is something you would like to see!
Looking for make-up for different types of occasions (e.g. long-lasting make-up, holiday make-up, five minute make-up)? Click here to see existing and upcoming posts in this area(you can also find the posts under the ‘All About Make-Up Guide’ tab on the menu bar).
Some time ago, I watched a You Tube video by Emilynoel83 where she recommended the Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolors. I have tried out – and loved – some of the products she has recommended in the past and so I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of these lipsticks. The Ultra HD Gel Lipcolors are a relatively new addition to the Revlon lipstick line-up. I picked up two shades: 705 Dawn, a neutral rose with a slight sheen and 760 Vineyard, a medium mauve-plum.
This post is based around how I store my eyeshadow palettes, my brushes and the mirror on my dressing table. I store my eyeshadow singles separately in my dressing table drawer so I will do a separate post on that aspect of my make-up collection.
If you want to know more about any of the products in the photos here let me know.
Note: I’ve separated my make-up organisation and storage into articles based around different parts of my make-up collection. Once I started writing, I realised that keeping it as one post was going to be too long and a bit overwhelming. You can read my other articles on how I store and organise my make-up here.
One of my readers (shout out to Julie!) said that she would love to see how I organise and store my make-up collection. I really enjoy reading this type of post on other sites so I thought, ‘why not put something together on my own site’?
It’s always fun to see how other people store and organise their make-up. It’s also fun to look at pictures of other people’s make-up and see what they have in their personal collection!

Once I started writing, I realised that keeping it as one post was going to be too long and a bit overwhelming. This first post is based around how I store my lip and cheek products. When I’m on holiday, I like my make-up to be effortless and easy. I like to look polished and nicely presented but I don’t want to have to spend much time getting ready. When I’m visiting warmer climates, I also like my make-up to be very light and fresh; I prefer not to have much on my face at all. Over the years, I’ve managed to whittle down my holiday make-up bag to those products that I know I will use.
I thought it would be fun to do a post featuring those products, as I know how hard it can be to leave products behind when you are a make-up lover! This post features my favourite face, eye and lip products for taking on holiday.
