This look shows that red lips can be paired effectively with coloured eyeshadows on the eyes (not just neutrals) if they are kept very soft.  I used a crease/blender brush (MAC 217) to softly smudge olive green and forest green eyeshadows onto the lid.

I completed the look using a rose-gold blusher and, of course, the hot orange-red lipcolour (Maybelline Colour Drama Velvet Lip Pencil in 410 Fab Orange) shown in the photos.

Pink and blue is one of my favourite colour combinations and works well with many eye colours.  Adding a deep navy into the outer v helps define the eye, whilst magenta in the crease adds an interesting twist to the look.

Note: I used the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette and the brush that comes with it to create this look.  You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Vice 3 palette), along with any similar brushes in your kit.

Green is one of my favourite colours and so I wanted to create a look based around this shade.  I combined together the NYX Slide-on Eye Pencil in Tropical Green with gold and lime green eyeshadows.  I completed the look with golden peach blusher on the cheeks and a satiny peachy-coral on the lips.

Sonic is a beautiful, metallic cranberry shade and one of my favourite colours from the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette.  I combined Sonic with brown, aubergine and black shades from the palette to create a soft, smoky burgundy effect on the eyes.

Note: I used the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette and the brush that comes with it to create this look.  You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Vice 3 palette), along with any similar brushes in your kit.

Today, I want to introduce you to a new exciting find of mine: NYX Slide-On Eye Pencils!

I was very excited to see recently that my local Boots counter had a new NYX counter.  I’ve read a lot online on US make-up blogs about NYX make-up and so I was eager to try out their products.  The NYX eye pencils also offer an exciting cheaper alternative to my favourite Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Liners, in that they are only £5 (opposed to £14 for the Urban Decay product).  So great for your wallet, as well as your face!

For this look, I combined violet-purple on the lid with a terracotta-brown in the crease.  Using brown-toned shades in the crease is one of my favourite ways of making coloured eyeshadows more wearable.

Tip: This look can be easily changed up by using a different colour of eyeshadow on the lid.  Try green, blue and silver for a fun twist on this look.

Note: You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Vice 4 palette).

MAC Melon pigment is a very versatile shade, as it can be paired with other neutrals or used alongside brighter colours.  I used a teal eyeliner along the upper and lower lashlines to give a pop of colour to this neutral, golden-peach look.

Tip: You can easily change up this look by using a different colour of eyeliner.  Purple, blue and green would all work well and give a different twist to the look.

MAC’s Blue Brown pigment is such an interesting shade; it looks a little blue, green, silver and brown depending on how the light hits.  I used a shimmery white base underneath to intensify the sheen of the pigment.  I also combined Blue Brown with green eyeshadows to bring out the green flecks in the pigment.
