For this look, I used teal and green eyeshadows to create a fun, colourful spin on the traditional smokey eye. I really like how teal and green eyeshadows look together.
Tip: You could add a little lemon yellow eyeshadow in the very inner corners if you want to add even more colourful brightness to the eyes. Black or deep teal liner along the upper and lower lashline would also add some extra smokiness to the look.

For this look, I used coral eyeshadow in the crease of the eye to add some subtle warmth to a bluish-violet combination. Adding a little blackberry eyeshadow in the outer lid helped tie the coral and blue-violet eyeshadows together and added some extra dimension to the look.

Benefit is launching a new boxed powder blush! The newest offering in the range will be Galifornia, which is described as a ‘sunny golden pink blusher’. The idea behind the shade is that it captures the glow of the ‘Californian sunshine in a box’. Benefit’s boxed blushers usually feature different scents and this one is no different. Galifornia is said to feature notes of pink grapefruit and vanilla. According to the official Benefit UK pages, Galifornia will be released on 11 February. Can’t wait to check this one out as I have a weakness for pink blushers with gold hues! You can read more on the official Benefit UK pages here.
Jerrod Blandino recently posted a sneak peek of Too Faced’s new Love Light Highlighters on his Instagram page. The highlighters follow Too Faced’s classic heart shaped design for cheek products but this time, come in metallic looking compacts. I love highlighters, so I can’t wait to check these out! The launch date is advertised as March 2017 so I imagine these will follow in the UK later in the year. You can see the sneak peek photo here.
Urban Decay has just released a new line called Vice Liquid Lipsticks. There are 30 shades available across two different finishes: Metallized and Comfort Matte. The liquid lipsticks are currently available in the USA (click here to see more on the official UD site). I don’t currently have information on when these will be available in the UK but I will update this post when I find out.
If you are a fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s cult lip liner Pillow Talk, you might be excited to hear she has released a Matte Revolution lipstick in the same shade. Exciting if you are a lover of this nude-pink liner and want to colour your pout with a matching lip colour! You can find Pillow Talk lipstick here.
Charlotte Tilbury has also released another new lipstick shade, with the name suggested by social media followers: K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in ‘Valentine’. Valentine is described as a ‘petal-rose’ pink which gives you a soft, full and kissable looking pout on application. You can find Valentine lipstick here.
MAC is coming out with a number of colourful lip and lash product offerings for Spring 2017. The ‘In Extra Dimension Mascara’ launch includes vibrant and colourful mascara colours, ranging from yellow, orange, red, blue and green. I felt like doing something different with my eye make-up yesterday and came up with this combination. I added in a slick of pale blue liquid liner along the upper lashline to add an unexpected flash of colour to a peachy-pink, orange and brown eyeshadow look.
Tip: If the blue liner is too much for you, you can just leave it out and stick with the eyeshadow look. I really liked how the eyeshadow combination looked on its own as well.

It’s been a while since I wrote a post (work and life have been very busy recently) and so I wanted to kick-start my writing again with a bold and colourful look. I used the new UD Full Spectrum Palette, which contains a rainbow array of colourful eyeshadows.
Tip: Lining the eyes with black liner and using lashings of black mascara really helps define the eye when using such bright eyeshadow colours.
Note: I’ll try to write a post on the UD Full Spectrum Palette soon, along with swatches, to give you an idea of what shades the palette contains. Think bright and colourful, ranging from white, yellow, orange, coral, copper, purple, cranberry, green, blue and black!

MAC has released new iridescent highlighters as part of their ‘In The Spotlight Collection’ for Holiday 2016. There are six shades of Strobing Cream (liquid formulation) and four shades of Extra Dimension Skinfinish (powder formulation) to choose from. Adding a sweep of coloured eyeliner to an otherwise neutral eyeshadow look is a nice way to introduce colour to your make-up. This technique is particularly nice if you fancy trying out colour but find it a little daunting.
Tip: Sticking to neutral tones of eyeshadow also means you can experiment with different colours of liner. Try purple, blue, bronze and silver for a twist on the same look.

Allure Magazine has reported that MAC will be coming out with a new eyeshadow formulation: MAC Spellbinder Eyeshadows. These eyeshadows are touted as being intensely pigmented and providing super-rich payoff on the lids. I can’t wait to check out the eight jewelled toned shades when they launch online and in-store (sometime between October – December 2016). You can read more here.
If you are a fan of the Anastasia Glow Kits, you might be excited to hear that the brand is releasing an Ultimate Glow Kit for the holiday season. The Ultimate Glow Kit will contain six gold-toned highlighters, ranging from snowy white to sparkly amber. This seems to be the season for colourful eyeshadow palettes. Kat Von D has just released the Metal Matte Eyeshadow Palette which contains 22 eyeshadows: 9 metal crush eyeshadows in all new shades and 13 rainbow mattes, ranging from light to dark tones. Looks amazing! You can see the palette on the Kat von D webpage here. Urban Decay will also be releasing the ‘Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette’ for Holiday 2016.
