FOTD: Smokey Purple (Using Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette)

It’s been a wee while since I last posted, so I thought I would kick things off again with a smokey purple look.  For this look, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette (you can see my post on the palette here), which is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes.  The Norvina Palette is particularly good for purple eyeshadows but it also has a variety of neutral, bronze and pink shades so you can create a variety of looks.

You can find other combinations I have created using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette on the site here.

If you would like some look ideas using particular shades in the palette, or certain types of looks, let me know! I’m really enjoying playing about with it so stay tuned for more combination ideas!

For this look, I combined greens, blues and golds from the NYX Swear By It Eyeshadow Palette.  I also added in a little bit of hot pink along the lower lashline to give the look some extra contrast.  I’ve given the look breakdown below, including products used on the eyes, cheeks and lips.

Spotlight on MAC: Greens and Blues (Using MAC Eyeshadows)

I felt like wearing something colourful and came up with this bright green and blue look using MAC eyeshadows.  Some of these MAC eyeshadows are limited edition or no longer part of the permanent collection.  However, you can find similar shades from MAC and other brands to re-create this look.

To complement the look: I used Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter in Ginger Binge as blusher (you can see photos of this product here), Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Highlighter in Mimosa to highlight the cheeks and Inglot Lipstick in shade 131 on the lips.

FOTD: Rose Gold Smokey Eye (Using Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette)

I recently posted this look on Instagram where I used Rose Gold, a beautiful shade from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette (you can see my post on the palette here).  I combined Rose Gold with other brown shades from the palette and some black liner to create this slightly smokey look.

FOTD: Yellow and Coral (Using NYX Swear By It Palette)

I created this look using the NYX Swear By It Eyeshadow Palette (you can see my post, see photos and view swatches of this palette here) some time ago.  My look was inspired by a look I saw Allie Glines create on YouTube.  She based her version on a look created by someone else too (I’m not sure who, unfortunately).

I used similar tones to Allie Glines on the eyes but I chose a coral lipstick instead of the red which she used.  I’m a huge fan of MAC Toying Around Lipstick, which is a beautiful, Amplified finish, medium bright coral shade and thought it would work well with the tones on the eyes.  This particular lipstick shade was limited edition but I think other brands will have similar shades.

I’m planning to post more of the looks I have created using this palette on the site, so stay tuned! You can find looks using this palette on the site here.

FOTD: Subtle Plum Eyes and Bold Lips (Using NYX Swear By It Palette)

I really enjoy using the NYX Swear By It Eyeshadow Palette (you can see my post, see photos and view swatches here) but for some reason, I never got round to posting looks I created using the palette.

This particular look uses plum shades from the palette to create some subtle definition on the eyes.  I chose to keep the eyes quite pared down as I wanted to wear this beautiful deep plum lipstick, MAC Huggable Lipcolour in Cocomotion.  I must have forgotten to write down the exact shades I used from the palette to create this look as I can’t see them in my folder (sorry!) but I remember using a combination of the plum shades in the first column (top down).

I’m planning to post more of the looks I have created using this palette on the site, so stay tuned! You can find looks using this palette on the site here.

Spotlight Smokey Purple and Pink (Using Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette)

For this look, I created a spotlight/halo effect on the eye using pink, purple and chocolate-plum shades from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette.  You can see my post on this palette here.

Purple and Coral (Using Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette)

I really love the combination of purple and coral, either in an eyeshadow combination or on the eyes and lips.  For this look, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette (you can see my post on the palette here) to create a bronze and purple eye.  I applied Too Faced Peach Kiss Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Peach Beach (you can see my post on these lipsticks here) to give a peach-coral finish to the lips.

FOTD: Kaleidoscope Colours (Using Morphe Live in Color Artistry Palette)

The Morphe Live in Color Artistry Palette was one of my top products from 2019 and a palette I continue to reach for in 2020 (you can read more about this palette here).  I find the colour selection so inspiring and it really encourages me to try out different eyeshadow combinations whenever I use it.

I found this look from last year in my look folders and thought it would be a fun one to post.  I remember I wanted to try something very bright and came up with this multi-coloured look with a cut crease and a halo effect on the eyes.

FOTD: Aquamarine and Purple (Using Morphe Live in Color Artistry Palette)

I love the shimmery aqua tone of Make Magic in the Morphe Live in Color Artistry Palette (you can read more about this palette here) and thought it would look beautiful on the lids alongside Heart and Harmony.  I really love how the shades blended together in this look.  I used Heart (a matte pink) in the crease and it created a blue-ish shade where the edges met Make Magic.  This step really added extra dimension to the look.
