For this look, I created a neutral, yet defined effect on the eyes to really make the red lips stand out.  Using neutral brown tones on the eyes means that you can easily wear any shade of red on the lips that you fancy.

Tip: Hot pinks, bright corals and deep aubergines would all work if you want to wear a bold shade on the lips.  Alternatively, nudes and rose-pinks would work just as well if you want to keep the overall look very natural.

Today, I am going to introduce you to my new favourite lipstick: Urban Decay Lipstick in Wonderland!

Wonderland lipstick is part of the new limited edition Gwen Stefani collection, which has been launched by Urban Decay.  The collection contains a blusher palette, an eyeshadow palette, a range of lipsticks, coordinating lip liners and a brow box.  I couldn’t resist taking a look at the products when I was in store  and fell in love with one of the lipsticks – Wonderland.

Update: Wonderland is now available as part of the permanent Urban Decay Vice Lipstick collection.  The other shades from the Gwen Stefani collection have also been incorporated into the regular Vice range of lipsticks.

For this look, I combined bright blue and gold eyeshadows to create a striking, elongated effect on the eyes.  Using contrasting shades of eyeshadow together can draw attention to the eyes and really make them stand out.

I used shades from the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette for this look but you can easily swap in other brands with similar shades.

Valentine’s Day is coming up next week and so I thought this would be the perfect time to create a Valentine-inspired look.  For this look, I used cranberry, aubergine and champagne shades on the eyes.  I completed the look using a peachy-pink blusher on the cheeks and a rose-pink lipstick on the lips.

Tip: You can add extra definition to the eyes by adding a thin line of aubergine or black liner along the upper lashline.

Silver Pink Cocktail

This look combines silver, pink and a dash of purple to create a cocktail effect on the eyes.  Adding purple to the outer v adds a little extra depth to the eye and helps to tie the pink and silver eyeshadows together.

Tip 1: Try using a different eyeshadow base to change up the same look.  I used a shimmery white paintpot underneath the eyeshadows as I wanted to create a lighter look.  Using a black base will create a smokier, deeper effect, whilst a skin-tone/clear base will make the eyeshadows brighter and bolder.

Tip 2: You can use a different shade in place of the silver if you want to change up the look.  Aqua, light pink, blue and white would all work well.
