I love reading articles on other make-up blogs featuring new make-up and beauty purchases.  It made me think, why not do something similar on my own site? I know the excitement I feel when I purchase new beauty products, so I thought it might be fun to add this type of post to my own site.

Do you like reading this type of post? Would you like it to be a more regular feature on the site? Let me know in the comments section.

Today, I want to introduce you to a new exciting find of mine: NYX Slide-On Eye Pencils!

I was very excited to see recently that my local Boots counter had a new NYX counter.  I’ve read a lot online on US make-up blogs about NYX make-up and so I was eager to try out their products.  The NYX eye pencils also offer an exciting cheaper alternative to my favourite Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Liners, in that they are only £5 (opposed to £14 for the Urban Decay product).  So great for your wallet, as well as your face!

Today, I am going to introduce you to my favourite concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer! I likely wouldn’t have tried this product, had I not received a free sample with a make-up order from Debenhams.  I’m really glad I got to try it, as I absolutely loved it and went on to buy a full-size version.

Today, I am going to introduce you to my new favourite lipstick: Urban Decay Lipstick in Wonderland!

Wonderland lipstick is part of the new limited edition Gwen Stefani collection, which has been launched by Urban Decay.  The collection contains a blusher palette, an eyeshadow palette, a range of lipsticks, coordinating lip liners and a brow box.  I couldn’t resist taking a look at the products when I was in store  and fell in love with one of the lipsticks – Wonderland.

Update: Wonderland is now available as part of the permanent Urban Decay Vice Lipstick collection.  The other shades from the Gwen Stefani collection have also been incorporated into the regular Vice range of lipsticks.

Today, I am going to introduce you to one of my new favourite eyeshadows – Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Dive Bar! Dive Bar is a gorgeous, slightly iridescent bluish-purple shade – not quite purple, not quite blue, just a beautiful mix of both.  This type of shade is perfect if you feel that blue is a little scary but purple is too bold.

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Distortion

Today, I am going to introduce you to one of my favourite products for brightening eyes: Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Distortion.  I find that Distortion provides a subtle sparkle to the eyes without being over the top.  I also like using this glitter eyeliner on days when I am feeling a little tired, as the small sparkles help to brighten eyes.

For this look, I used a bright cherry-cranberry eyeshadow with medium and deep chocolate browns in the crease to create a warm cranberry effect on the eyes.  I used the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette to create this look but you can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades.

This look is part of The Chocolate series, which shows how you can experiment with a different lid colour to change up an existing look.  You can find The Chocolate series here.

If you are interested in how these combinations look on other people, then I’d recommend taking a look at @shinebridabeauty on Instagram! @shinebridabeauty tagged me to show she was inspired by The Chocolate Series and re-created the looks on her Instagram page.  It’s so wonderful to see the combinations on someone else.  @shinebridabeauty also uses different products, which that you don’t need the same items to re-create a look.  She also came up with her own extra Chocolate look – Coconut Chocolate – so look out for that one on her Instagram page!

Vamp It Up With Urban Decay Venom

Today, I am going to introduce to Urban Decay Venom.  Venom is a deep, plum-berry lipstick which creates a beautiful, sultry effect on the lips.  The satin finish to this shade makes the lips look sophisticated, defined and polished, rather than flat or overly shiny.  The depth of colour in Venom also means that it lasts well throughout the day and does not require regular touch-ups.

Benefit Rockateur Blusher

Today, I am going to introduce you to one of my new favourite blushers: Benefit Rockateur Blusher.  Rockateur is described as a ‘rose-gold’ and I find that the blusher fits this description well.  The blusher comes in a box which includes a small brush and a mirror, which means you can easily pop it in your bag for touch-ups when you are out and about.
