I really love the combination of purple and coral, either in an eyeshadow combination or on the eyes and lips.  For this look, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette (you can see my post on the palette here) to create a bronze and purple eye.  I applied Too Faced Peach Kiss Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Peach Beach (you can see my post on these lipsticks here) to give a peach-coral finish to the lips.

You can find other combinations I have created using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette on the site here.

If you would like some look ideas using particular shades in the palette, or certain types of looks, let me know! I’m really enjoying playing about with it so stay tuned for more combination ideas!

I have been enjoying creating different looks using the Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit The Wants Palette  (you can see my post on the palette here) since I purchased the palette in September 2018.  I thought it would be fun to post some look ideas I have come up with using the palette.  The lighting is a bit different in some of the photos as the weather was very changeable each day, but you can still get some look ideas from the photos.

I have given details on how to re-create the combination under each look item, along with suggestions for cheek and lip products to go with each look.

The first look in my Bird Series (you can read more about the series here) is based around the African Grey Parrot.  I’ve had exposure to this beautiful bird over the years and thought it would be a fun place to start the series.

The African Grey Parrot (see photo below) has a striking colour scheme of grey, white and black, with bright scarlet tail feathers at the back.  For this look, I incorporated the greys, white and red on the lid, along with black liner on the upper lashline.  I also used a soft red lipstick on the lips to mimic the vivid red tail feathers.

You can view full face shots, along with the cheek and lip colours I used, in this post.

Tip: I’m using the NYX Swear By IT Eyeshadow Palette, along with a couple of shades from the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Palette, for this look.  You can view posts on the site featuring the NYX Palette here and the Kat Von D palette here.  You can also view other eyeshadow combinations I have created using the NYX Swear By It Eyeshadow Palette here and the Kat Von D Palette here.

Today’s look for the Rainbow Series is based around VIOLET, the seventh colour in the rainbow.  For this look, I combined violet with orange, coral and copper to create a fun contrast of colours on the eyes.  I often wear purples with blues or pinks, so it was fun to try out a different combination.  You can view full face shots, along with the cheek and lip colours I used, in this post.

The Rainbow Series includes looks based around each of the colours of the rainbow.  You can read about the series and view more posts here.

Tip: I’m using the Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette for all of the looks but you can substitute in eyeshadows from any brand.  The NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in ‘Brights’ is a great dupe for the Urban Decay Full Spectrum and cheaper (£16 instead of £43).  You can view the NYX Palette here.

Today’s look for the Rainbow Series is based around INDIGO, the sixth colour in the rainbow.  I was a little bit nervous about this colour, as I don’t normally wear dark, satin shades on my lid.  I like how it turned out, though, which shows it can be fun to experiment with different looks.  You can view full face shots, along with the cheek and lip colours I used, in this post.

Today’s look for the Rainbow Series is based around GREEN, the fourth colour in the rainbow.   I decided to combine the greens with dark indigo in the outer v for this look, as I usually veer more towards wearing greens with yellows.  I’m enjoying how this series is encouraging me to try out new colour combinations!  You can view full face shots, along with the cheek and lip colours I used, in this post.

Today’s look for the Rainbow Series is based around YELLOW, the third colour in the rainbow.  I decided to combine yellow with hot pink and purple to create a bright, spring-like effect on the eyes.  You can view full face shots, along with the cheek and lip colours I used, in this post.

Rainbow Series: Rainbow Eyes

Rainbow Eyes

Rainbow Eyes

From this week, I’m starting the ‘Rainbow Series’, which will include looks based around each of the colours of the rainbow.  I’ve come up with the series as a way for me to experiment with colour and encourage my creativity.  Each combination will have a colour of the rainbow on the lid to form the basis for the look.  For example, the first look will be centred around red on the lid, the next will have orange on the lid, the next yellow on the lid and so on.

For each combination, I’ll be providing close-up photos of the eyes and full face shots so you can see how the look comes together.  I’ll also be listing the cheek and lip colours I have used for each combination so you can get ideas for how to complement the looks.  You will be able to find all of the looks here.

Today’s look kicks of the series by utilising all the colours in the rainbow.  I’ve never tried a rainbow effect combination, so I thought it would be a fun way to start the series.  As with the other looks, you can click ‘Read More’ in this post to see how to re-create the look, view the full face shots and cheek/lip products for complementing the look.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a sneak peek of products I picked up from a recent trip to Kiko (click here to see the post).  As part of the ‘Metal Fusion’ collection, there are powder highlighters which are also available in the permanent Kiko range.  I already have the Glow Fusion Powder Highlighter in 01 Champagne, which was included in the ‘Metal Fusion’ collection.  This highlighter gives such a beautiful, natural glow to the face that I think it is well worth a post!
