I’m a huge fan of the Kiko Water eyeshadows and so I couldn’t resist picking up another one when they had a sale in store.  I just love the shimmery, candy pink hue of this particular Water eyeshadow.  I mixed it up a little by applying purple in the crease and and a silver liquid liner along the upper lashline.

#2 Make-up Organisation and Storage: Eyeshadow Palettes, Brushes and Mirror

This post is based around how I store my eyeshadow palettes, my brushes and the mirror on my dressing table.  I store my eyeshadow singles separately in my dressing table drawer so I will do a separate post on that aspect of my make-up collection.

If you want to know more about any of the products in the photos here let me know.

Note: I’ve separated my make-up organisation and storage into articles based around different parts of my make-up collection.  Once I started writing, I realised that keeping it as one post was going to be too long and a bit overwhelming.  You can read my other articles on how I store and organise my make-up here.

Elemental (Using Urban Decay Moondust Palette)

This is the first of my looks using the new Urban Decay Moondust Palette.  I really wanted to create a smokier look using one of the Moondust eyeshadows and so I used a deep metallic cranberry paintpot as a base.   This particular paint pot adds a really pretty plum hue to Element eyeshadow.

Tip: Experimenting with different colours of eyeshadow base can bring out different tones in whatever eyeshadow you choose to use.

You can read more about this palette, see photos and view swatches here.

#1 Make-up Organisation and Storage: Lips and Cheeks

One of my readers (shout out to Julie!) said that she would love to see how I organise and store my make-up collection.  I really enjoy reading this type of post on other sites so I thought, ‘why not put something together on my own site’?

It’s always fun to see how other people store and organise their make-up.  It’s also fun to look at pictures of other people’s make-up and see what they have in their personal collection!

Note: I’ve separated my make-up organisation and storage into articles based around different parts of my make-up collection.  Once I started writing, I realised that keeping it as one post was going to be too long and a bit overwhelming.  This first post is based around how I store my lip and cheek products.  If you want to know more about any of the products in the photos here, let me know.

Being a make-up lover, I love watching YouTube videos, reading make-up blogs and browsing in stores to see all of the fun products out there.  I thought it would be fun to write a new type of post passing on information on new products, collections and other make-up related goodness.  I hope you enjoy reading this type of post too!

I recently found out that a Charlotte Tilbury counter will be opening in House of Fraser, Glasgow! Very, very exciting, particularly given that there aren’t any counters in Scotland.  The counter will be opening on Thursday 8 September in the section where the MAC counter used to be located (MAC has moved to where Yo Sushi used to be).

Kat Von D make-up is coming to the UK and Ireland! The brand will be available exclusively to Debenhams online.  You can read more about the launch here.

Bare Minerals has just added to their foundation line-up with the new BarePro Performance Wear Powder Foundation.  BarePro is a pressed mineral powder foundation and comes in 20 shades.  You can read more about this product here.

Urban Decay will be launching several new products as part of their Fall/Autumn collection.  Products will include two Vice Lip Palettes, the Naked Ultimate Basics Palette (see more on Temptalia here), the Naked Ultimate Illumination Trio (see more on XSparkage here), Urban Lashes and Moondust liquid eyeshadows.  They will also be re-launching vintage eyeshadows, lipsticks and nail polishes as part of their 20 year anniversary.  You can see a sneak peek of the Fall/Autumn launches on the Urban Decay Instagram page here and the Teen Vogue site here.

Do you like this sort of post? Any types of launches, make-up ranges or products you would like to read more about? Let me know in the comments section.

For this look, I added a slick of a glitter liner (Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Amp) along the lashline to add some sparkle to this aqua-green combination.  I really like the glitter liner adds a little extra something to the look, without changing it too much.

Face of the Day: Tie Dyed Mix

For this particular look, I took inspiration from a skirt I have with a tie-dye, swirled effect.  The skirt has a mix of black, pink, blue and purple and I thought it would look so cool to mimic that combination on my eyes.

Twist of Colour 2 (Using Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette)

This look is a slightly brighter version of the ‘Twist of Colour’ look I posted recently.  For this look, I used a bright, shimmery silver on the lid, cork brown in the crease and a ‘pop’ of bright blue in the outer  v part of the lid.

Tip: The beauty of this look is that you can adapt it using any other colour in the outer v.  Try pink, purple, olive green, charcoal and black for a twist on the same look.

Note: You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Vice 2 palette).

Face of the Day: Fresh and Peachy

This look shows that red lipstick can be used with eyeshadow shades other than neutrals.  I used peach and coral-red eyeshadows on the eyes to create a very fresh, slightly colourful effect on the eyes.

I completed the look using a peachy-pink blusher (MAC Pinch O’Peach) and a matte, pinky-red lipstick (Loreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Julianne’s Pure Red).

Twist of Colour (Using Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette)

Adding in a bright colour to the outer v is a easy way to introduce colour without it being overpowering.  For this look, I pepped up a relatively neutral silver and brown eye combination with a ‘pop’ of emerald green.

Tip: The beauty of this type of look is that you can adapt it using any colour in the outer v.  Try swapping in purples, blues, coppers and blacks for an interesting twist on the same look.

Note: You can use any brand of eyeshadow you like which has similar shades to re-create this look (if you don’t have the Vice 4 palette).
