Smouldering Silver and Purple (Using Kat Von D Saints and Sinners Palette)

I was really eager to play with the deeper, smouldering tones in the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Palette (you can read more about the palette here)  and came up with this smokey look.  I used Sacred Heart, a shimmery peachy-coral shade, to blend out the crease and add some warmth to the look.

To complement the look: I used Kiko Baked Blush in Marmoreal Biscuit (you can read more about this product here) on the cheeks and Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipstick in Devotion (you can read more about this product here) on the lips.

Black and Gold (Using Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded Palette)

I wanted to do something different in terms of eyeshadow placement and colour combinations and came up with this look.  I used bright gold and black from the Urban Decay Vice XX Ltd Reloaded Palette to create a strong, contrasting effect on the eyes.  The black is meant to be very defined in this look, which is why I haven’t blended it out or softened the edges.

To complement the look: I used The Balm Greatest Hits Volume 2 In The Balm of Your Hand Palette for bronzer, brusher and highlighter.  I finished off the look with MAC Syrup on the lips.

One of my close friends, Ema, asked recently if I had any tips how to prevent under-eye concealer from looking dry, creasing or settling into lines.  I thought it would be fun to write a post on this aspect of make-up, as there some tips and tricks which can prevent this from happening.

Are there any aspects of make-up which you would like some advice on? Perhaps you want some specific tips on make-up application or how to create a particular look? Or would you like ideas for getting more use out of a particular eyeshadow palette or eyeshadow single? Let me know your queries or requests in the comments section and I will do my best to help!

Too Faced Peach Kiss Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipsticks

I’m a huge fan of the Too Faced Peaches and Cream products and am absolutely loving their new Too Faced Peach Kiss Moisture Long Wear Lipsticks.  I first purchased the shade ‘Breakfast Club’ and was so impressed that I ended up picking up two more shades – Got Peach? and Peach Beach.

I love the vibrancy, opacity, smoothness and comfortable feel of these lipsticks.  They smell delicious too, due to their refreshing peachy, vanilla-esque scent.

If you are on the look out for a new matte lipstick with incredible pigment, opacity and comfort, then I highly recommend the Too Faced Peach Kiss range!

Face of the Day: Adapted ‘Son of a Peach’ Look (Using The Too Faced Sugar Peach Palette)

Last week, I uploaded a post featuring the new Too Faced Sugar Peach Palette (you can see the post here).  I’ve been enjoying using the palette and trying the shades out in different ways.

For the look above, I used the ‘How to Glamour Guide’ that came with the palette and followed the steps for the ‘Son of a Peach’ look.  I adapted the look slightly to suit my own make-up style and preferences.

I think that this look can go with so many different types of lip colours.  I used the Too Faced Peach Kiss Lipstick in Breakfast Club, which is a vibrant, orange-red shade, in the photos above.  Click here to read more and see swatches of the Peach Kiss Lipsticks!

Spotlight on MAC: Autumnal Smoke (Using MAC Eyeshadows)

I’ve repurchased MAC Expensive Pink twice as it is such a beautiful duochrome shade with hints of coral, orange and pink.  I’ve used it with a variety of shades and thought I would try it with cranberry and a deep charcoal for a warm, autumnal look.

To complement the look: I used Clinique Cheek Pop in 02 Peach Pop (click here to read more about this product) on the cheeks, MAC Beaming Blush Extra Dimension Skinfinish Highlighter to highlight the cheekbones and MAC Brave lipstick on the lips.

Too Faced Sugar Peach Wet and Dry Face & Eye Palette

Last week, I was browsing in Debenhams and picked up the Too Faced Sugar Peach Wet and Dry Face & Eye Palette.  The palette didn’t really stand out to me online but in person, it looked so beautiful! I’ve been playing around with it and think it is amazing!

I love the versatility, scent and glowy, wide-awake look that this palette gives to the eyes, cheeks and face.  The palette also looks – and feels – so luxurious, special and classy, making it a real treat to use.

I think that the Too Faced Sugar Sweet Palette is definitely worth a look if you want a daily palette to make your whole face quickly appear brighter, glowy and healthy!

Spotlight on MAC: Going for Green (Using MAC Eyeshadows)

Green is one of my favourite colours to wear, both in terms of eyeshadow and clothing.  I thought I would play about with some MAC green eyeshadows and came up with this green combination.

To complement the look: I used Benefit Rockateur blusher on the cheeks and MAC Fresh and Frisky Huggable Lipcolour on the lips.

Spotlight on MAC: MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshadow

MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow

Combination using MAC Satin Taupe (more details below!)

When I first started getting into MAC make-up, Satin Taupe had cult status amongst make-up bloggers and users.  The shade was regularly mentioned as must-have, due to its ability to look amazing on the lid all on its own or when combined with other eyeshadows.  No matter how much time has passed, MAC Satin Taupe is still an eyeshadow I find myself reaching for and one that continues to be a staple in my make-up collection.

Eyeshadow ‘fallout’ refers to the little particles of powder which drop down on the face when you are applying eyeshadow.  It can be very frustrating seeing ‘fallout’ on the face when you have spent time creating a beautiful look.  Having little specks of eyeshadow or glitter can make the under-eye area look messy and ruin the overall effect.

There are several techniques which can help prevent your overall look being ruined by eyeshadow ‘fallout’.  Read on to find out!
