Four Ways With Natasha Denona Love Palette

My husband recently treated me to the Natasha Denona Love Palette (thank you!) and since then, I have been enjoying playing with it soooo much.  Here are four look ideas I have come up with using the palette.

I have given details on how to re-create each combination below, along with suggestions for cheek and lip products to go with each look.

If you would like some look ideas using particular shades in the palette, or certain types of looks, let me know! I’m really enjoying playing about with it so stay tuned for more combination ideas!

I’m planning a post on the palette, including photos and swatches, so keep an eye out for that soon!

Smouldering Silver and Purple (Using Kat Von D Saints and Sinners Palette)

I was really eager to play with the deeper, smouldering tones in the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Palette (you can read more about the palette here)  and came up with this smokey look.  I used Sacred Heart, a shimmery peachy-coral shade, to blend out the crease and add some warmth to the look.

To complement the look: I used Kiko Baked Blush in Marmoreal Biscuit (you can read more about this product here) on the cheeks and Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipstick in Devotion (you can read more about this product here) on the lips.

Spotlight on MAC: MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshadow

MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow

Combination using MAC Satin Taupe (more details below!)

When I first started getting into MAC make-up, Satin Taupe had cult status amongst make-up bloggers and users.  The shade was regularly mentioned as must-have, due to its ability to look amazing on the lid all on its own or when combined with other eyeshadows.  No matter how much time has passed, MAC Satin Taupe is still an eyeshadow I find myself reaching for and one that continues to be a staple in my make-up collection.

Hot Magenta and Black (Using Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette)

I’ve really been enjoying dipping back into palettes that I purchased a while ago (from Urban Decay, Kat Von D and Too Faced) as it can be so easy to get sidetracked by all the new releases.  I really love the bold pops of colour and smokier tones in the Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette and came up with this magenta and black eyeshadow combination.

To complement the look I used: MAC Blusher in Melba (matte peach) and MAC Huggable Lip Colour in Fresh and Frisky (light coral-peach).

Kiko Metal Fusion Blush in 05 Outrageous Tangerine

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a sneak peek of products I picked up from a recent trip to Kiko (click here to see the post).  I picked up one of the new blushers from the limited edition ‘Metal Fusion’ collection in the shade 05 Outrageous Tangerine.  I am glad I got this blusher as it looks so beautiful and glowy on the cheeks!

Sparkling Silvery Taupe (Using Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Palette)

Immaculate in the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Palette is a really interesting shade and one I couldn’t wait to try out in a look.  At first glance, it looks like a light, bright silver but on application, it has taupe and tan inflections to it, depending on how it catches the light.  For this look, I used Immaculate on the lid to give a pop of brightness, along with olive green and chocolate elsewhere to give some depth to the eyes.

To complement the look, I used MAC Metallic Lipstick in Forbidden Romance on the lips (a metallic warm brownish-coppery rose), Too Faced Love Flush Blusher in Love Hangover (satin peachy-pink) on the cheeks and Anastasia Glow Powder in Starburst (pale metallic pearly-pink) to highlight.  If you want something with a little more impact, MAC Chili lipstick (matte orangey-brown) works really well with this look too.

Kiko Arctic Holiday 2017 Collection: Baked Blushes

Kiko recently launched their Holiday 2017 Collection, titled ‘Arctic Holiday’ and includes three baked blushes.  I couldn’t resist picking up two of the blushes as they were soooo pretty.  The products themselves, the packaging and the outer box are so beautifully presented and look lovely.  I think these blushes would make wonderful gifts for any make-up lover or as a special treat for yourself.

I visited the Livingston Designer Retail Outlet a couple of weeks ago and was incredibly excited to see that there is now a ‘Cosmetic Company Store’ there!!! If you live in the USA, you may have seen The Cosmetic Company Stores.  This store is the first of its kind in Scotland (yaaaaay!) and so I was thrilled to see there is now one within driving distance for me.

The CCS sells premium brand make-up at reduced prices.  The brands that I spotted on my visit were MAC, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Smashbox and Bumble and Bumble.   The products are genuine and there is nothing wrong with them.  They tend to be those from limited edition ranges, surplus stock from existing ranges and shades which are being phased out by the make-up brands.

I picked up five different MAC goodies while I was in the store (read on to see what I picked up).  I think I may have to go back in a few months again and see what new stock they have in!!
