Here is some new make-up news for this week:

Fenty Beauty will be touring around the UK in July 2018 with pop-up stores featuring the new Moroccan Spice collection and the whole range of products.  There will be pop-up stores in London (5-8 July), Glasgow (14-15 July), Nottingham (21-22 July) and Belfast (28-29 July).  I’ve never seen Fenty Beauty products in person so I’m really excited to visit one of the pop-up stores.  You can read more on the pop-up stores and find location information on Harvey Nichol’s official website here.

Too Faced co-founder Jerrod Blandino has released sneak peek photos on Instagram of the upcoming ‘Tutti Frutti’ collection.  The collection looks pretty big and like it includes an eyeshadow palette, blushers, highlighters, lip glosses and face sprays.  I love the Sweet Peach products and so I’m really excited to see what this new collection is like! You can see the sneak peeks on Jerrod Blandino’s Instagram page here.

Kat Von D has a range of new palettes coming out for Holiday 2018, including a blusher/highlighter palette and an eyeshadow palette.  You can see more on ‘trendmood1’ on Instagram here.

Charlotte Tilbury has just launched the new ‘Bar of Gold Trio Highlighter Palette’ on charlottetilbury.com.  The palette costs £49 and contains the Original Gold bar highlighter, Rose Gold (a light pinky-rose) and Gold Bullion (a medium sun-kissed bronze).  You can see the palette here.

Hourglass will be launching an Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4 palette for Holiday 2018.  The palette contains two finishing powders, one strobe powder, a strobe blusher, blusher and bronzer.  You can see more on ‘trendmood1’ here and on Instagram here.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Vitality Brightening Creme Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi

I recently read on FYI Beauty that Boots is now selling IT Cosmetics and so thought it was time for an IT Cosmetics post! QVCUK was the first company to launch IT Cosmetics in the UK and last year, I snapped up one of the sets containing the IT Cosmetics CC Creme Blush and the No 20 Heavenly Luxe Airbrush Blush Brush.

The CC Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi is one of my favourite products for when I want to make my face look really fresh and healthy with minimal effort.  It is also wonderful in summertime on days when you want just the lightest hint of make-up.

Quick and Easy Neutral Eye (Using Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette

I used the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette (click here to see my post on this palette) to create this quick and easy go-with-anything neutral eye combination.  I wore this look with a red lipstick but it would go just as well with nudes, pinks, corals or deeper shades.

Spotlight on MAC: Extra Dimension Blush in ‘Sweets For My Sweet’

The ‘Extra Dimension’ line is one of my favourites from MAC and so I was very excited when they introduced Extra Dimension blushers, skin finishes and eyeshadows to their permanent range.  I found it very hard to choose what products to get as they were so beautiful but I managed to narrow it down to one blusher (featured here) and one skin finish (Beaming Blush).

Spotlight on MAC: Vivid Coral and Purple (Using MAC Eyeshadows)

For this look, I used peachy-coral, copper and plum MAC eyeshadows on the lid, followed by a slick of NYX Vivid Brights Coloured Liquid Liner in Vivid Violet along the upper lashline (you can read more on this product here).  I really love how the purple liner contrasts and ‘pops out’ against the peach and copper tones on the lid.

To complement the look: I used  Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer in Sweet Tea (click here to read more about this product), Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Sparkling Bellini (click here to read more about this product) and Loreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick in 464 Color Hype.

All Out Blue (Using MAC Eyeshadows)

I thought it would be fun to use various shades of blue eyeshadow from MAC to kickstart my new ‘Spotlight on MAC’ series.  You can read more about the ‘Spotlight on MAC’ series here.

Some of the shades are from the permanent range, whilst a couple are from past limited edition collections.  I’ve given suggestions for permanent shades you can use in place of the limited edition ones, in case you don’t have them.

To complement the look:  I used Kiko Marmoreal Biscuit Baked Blush (you can read more about this product here) on my cheeks and Bare Minerals Gen Nude Lipstick in Nudist on the lips.

On a recent trip to Boots, I found myself browsing the NYX make-up counter and ended up picking up one of the Vivid Brights Coloured Liquid Liners in the shade ‘Vivid Violet’.  The Vivid Brights range of liquid liners has been out for a while but I haven’t looked at them before.  I’m glad I picked one up to try as I love it – relatively inexpensive, easy to apply and vivid, high impact colour in liquid form!

Berry, Peach and Lime Pop (Using Kat Von D Saints and Sinners Palette)

I haven’t yet played around with Rosary from the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Eyeshadow Palette and was keen to try it out.  For this look, I used it alongside Sacred Heart (a peachy-coral shade) and Exodus (a light acid green) to create a soft, colourful effect on the eyes.  I really like how Exodus (the lime green shade) pops out in the inner part of the lid.

New Series: Spotlight on MAC!

I’ve always loved make-up but 2005 was when I discovered MAC and a whole new world of colour, combinations and general make-up excitement opened up to me.  Back then, MAC was one of the major make-up brands that regularly featured on make-up blogs and YouTube.  I remember reading post after post about their products, looking at swatches online and seeking out combination ideas.  I regularly visited the MAC counter in my area and started building up my MAC eyeshadow collection.

Since then, so many new make-up brands have come on the scene and I feel like MAC perhaps doesn’t get the same sort of attention or coverage that it used to get.  Recently, I’ve been going back to my MAC self-made eyeshadow palettes and have really fallen in love with them again.  I think it can be really easy to overlook or forget about favourite products from the past when the new, exciting, shiny products come out, particularly all of the new palettes that are launched these days.

There’s a reason why I used to love MAC sooooo much back in the day – especially their eyeshadows.  The pigment is generally fantastic, the eyeshadows last really well and the colour range available is amazing.  It’s been so much fun re-discovering my love for their eyeshadows and the brand in general all over again.

Soooooo, that got me thinking.  I thought it would be fun to start a new series on my site called ‘Spotlight on MAC’.  My aim with the series is to showcase looks using MAC eyeshadows, feature various products and introduce you to MAC as a brand if you haven’t used their products before.  I think the series will also encourage me to experiment with my MAC eyeshadow palettes again.

I’m planning on uploading posts to the ‘Spotlight on MAC’ series from next week, so stay tuned for these posts in the coming weeks!

Kiko Glow Fusion Powder Highlighter in 01 Champagne

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a sneak peek of products I picked up from a recent trip to Kiko (click here to see the post).  As part of the ‘Metal Fusion’ collection, there are powder highlighters which are also available in the permanent Kiko range.  I already have the Glow Fusion Powder Highlighter in 01 Champagne, which was included in the ‘Metal Fusion’ collection.  This highlighter gives such a beautiful, natural glow to the face that I think it is well worth a post!
